We offer a wide range of choices encouraging a balance between the active and the creative.

Each Fernwood camper must reach a proficiency in swimming and canoeing, and participate in fieldsports. Apart from the above requirements, each camper designs her own schedule.

Groups within an activity are based on interest and/or skill level, not age or bunk family. Our oldest campers (juniors and seniors) may "major," taking extra time to explore a camp activity in greater depth.

Maine is the ideal setting
for out-of-camp adventures.

On trip day our girls mountain climb, flat and white water canoe, rock climb, camp, sail, and sight see at points of interest in the northern New England area.

They enjoy new experiences, and challenges under the supervision of our qualified staff. Our campers can also choose to go on extended hiking, canoeing, and biking trips.

Some of our destinations include Acadia National Park, Mt. Katahdin, the White Mountains, and the St. Croix and Androscoggin Rivers.

Camp is a magical place where special events can happen at any moment. Even with a scheduled program, no day is like any other.

Some of our exciting events include traditional Sunday night campfire, plays, costume parties, treasure hunts, color war, intramural sports, and skit and stunt nights, socials with local boys camps, and weekly mini-courses, where the girls can learn anything from fishing to creative writing, to jam making.

Each summer's end is celebrated with "Team Parties," a carnival planned by the oldest girls for their spirited Greens and Whites!
